Beaune 1er Cru "Perrières"
Côte de Beaune, Burgundy
Pinot Noir | 750 ml | Premier Cru
From the steep, east-facing slopes of the “Perrières” climat in the northern part of the Beaune appellation, Maison Louis Latour’s Beaune 1er Cru “Perrières” showcases a parcel of 1.32 ha planted on shallow, clay-limestone soils rich in ancient quarry limestone. The vines average around 25 years old.
Grapes are hand-harvested and fermented in traditional open vats. The wine is then matured for 10 - 12 months in French oak barrels with 35% new oak and medium toast, crafted at the Louis Latour cooperage. Expect a deeply coloured Pinot Noir with intensity and structure: aromas of black-cherry, liquorice, dark berry and subtle toasty oak, followed by a rich, round palate with silky tannins and an enduring finish.
