California, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Virginia, and Washington DC
In our exploratory run of Shopify, our shipping zone is limited. We will only be shipping to a few areas that we have licensing for. As we transition and build our direct-to-consumer (DtC) business, we will expand to include all states that allow importers to sell directly to consumers. However, we will not have the licensing to ship directly to consumers in many states because a shockingly large number of states do not allow DtC sales from an importer.
The shipping methods currently offered (weather permitting) are FedEx Home Delivery (a.k.a. Ground), FedEx Express Saver, or FedEx 2nd Day.
Due to the sensitive nature of our product, we will avoid shipping in extreme heat or cold temperatures. In order to minimize exposure to the elements and minimize the chance of wine spoilage, we will be mindful of the weather forecast and delay shipping until we are sure the wine will reach you without being compromised in the heat or cold.
Most orders will be processed quickly, but please allow 3 business days for order processing. If there is an extreme weather event, you will receive details through email. Otherwise, you will receive tracking information as your order is shipped.
Please make sure that your address is complete and correct when you provide it. Louis Latour Inc cannot be held responsible for deliveries to addresses that were not input completely or correctly by customers. Packages that cannot be delivered because of this will be returned to us. Further costs such as additional handling charges or the repurchase of wines spoiled/ruined in transit may occur. Avoid these costs and other delivery complications by double checking your information for accuracy.
Adult signature required
Liquor laws dictate that someone 21+ must sign for packages containing wine. The responsibility is upon the purchaser to have someone 21+ sign for deliveries. This is why we recommend shipping to a business address if possible. FedEx will make up to 3 attempts to deliver a package if no adult is available. FedEx will then hold the package at one of its locations where the package may be picked up or returned to us. Additional charges may occur should this happen. Reach out to customer service with any questions or concerns.
Alternatively
We can offer a pick up option for those who are close enough to San Rafael. Pick-ups are only after we have confirmed your order is available and we have an agreed upon time. The person who placed the order must be the person who picks up the order. You must be 21+ with a valid state ID to pick up an order. We are not a retail store and therefore cannot offer any browsing or on site sales due to licensing. We graciously appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
