Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru "En Caradeux"
Côte de Beaune, Burgundy
Chardonnay | 750 ml | Premier Cru
The village of Pernand-Vergelesses is situated just 3 km from Aloxe-Corton, and among all the villages that the Grand Cru hill of Corton overlooks, this is the most picturesque. The parcel "En Caradeux", situated mid-slope and facing east, overlooks the hill of Corton. These vines are worked traditionally by the winemakers of Domaine Louis Latour. The soil is stony, and the basement is composed of marl and flint limestone, which gives this terroir its typical particularity.
Undergoes complete malolactic fermentation in traditional French oak barrels, all 25% new and medium toasted by the Louis Latour cooperage, and aged for 8 to 10 months.
